The first meeting of the China-US economic and trade consultation mechanism will continue on Tuesday (local time), according to Yuyuantantian, a social media account affiliated with the state broadcaster CCTV.

The first meeting opened in London on Monday. Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, attended the meeting with US representatives, the Xinhua News Agency reported on Monday (local time). 

Responding to a question over further information about the first meeting of the China-US economic and trade consultation mechanism, which topics China attaches special importance at the meeting and what's China's expectations for the meeting, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian said on Monday's press briefing that China has announced relevant information about the meeting.

"Please stay tuned regarding the details of the consultation between China and the US," Lin said.
