A helicopter travelling from Dehradun to Kedarnath has crashed near Gaurikund in Uttarakhand, police officials said on Saturday, according to Indian media.

Five or six people were on board at the time of the crash, according to local media. The weather across the Kedarnath valley was reported to be extremely bad.

Rescue teams have been rushed to the spot to trace survivors.
