外交部发言人郭嘉昆主持6月16日例行记者会。会上有日媒记者提问称：瑞典斯德哥尔摩国际和平研究所16日发布的全球核力量年度报告指出，中国目前拥有600枚核弹头，位居全球第三，并以每年约100枚的速度提升，增速快于世界任何其他国家，这位发言人对此有何评论？

At the regular press conference of the Chinese Foreign Ministry hosted by Spokesperson Guo Jiakun on Monday, a Japanese media reporter asked: “The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute of Sweden on Monday released its Yearbook on global state of armaments, claiming that China now has 600 nuclear warheads, ranking third in the world, and that China’s nuclear arsenal is growing by about 100 new warheads a year, faster than any other country. What is your comment about this?”

郭嘉昆对此表示，中方对有关报告不做评论，我想强调，中国一直坚持自卫防御核战略，始终将核力量维持在国家安全需要的最低水平，不参与军备竞赛。

In response, Guo said that China has no comment on the relevant report. However, he stressed that China has always adhered to a nuclear strategy of self-defense and maintains its nuclear capabilities at the minimum level required for national security, without engaging in any arms race.

郭嘉昆说，中国恪守任何时候、任何情况下不首先使用核武器的政策，承诺无条件不对无核武器国家和无核武器区使用或威胁使用核武器。中国是唯一采取这一政策的核武器国家，中国将继续坚定致力于维护自身正当安全利益，维护世界和平与稳定。

China strictly follows the policy of no first use of nuclear weapons at any time and under any circumstances, and has pledged unconditionally not to use or threaten to use nuclear weapons against non-nuclear-weapon states or nuclear-weapon-free zones. China is the only nuclear-weapon state to adopt such a policy, and it will remain firmly committed to safeguarding its legitimate security interests and maintaining world peace and stability, Guo said.
