When asked to comment on Israel's attack on Iran's state TV, which came shortly after Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said Monday that Iran's state television and radio were "about to disappear," and Iran has condemned it as a "wicked act" and a "war crime," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Tuesday that China is deeply concerned about the situation.

China once again calls on all parties to immediately take measures to cool down the tensions as soon as possible and prevent the region from falling into greater turmoil, he said.

Guo noted that a cease-fire and an end to the war are of paramount urgency, and only dialogue and consultation can bring lasting peace.

China is willing to maintain close communication with all parties and play a role in easing the tensions, he said.
