On June 18, 2025, the "2025 Beijing Xicheng-Paris Investment Promotion Event" was successfully held at the Paris China Cultural Center in France. The event was hosted by the People's Government of Xicheng District, Beijing, and co-organized by the Beijing Financial Street Chamber of Commerce, Bank of China Paris Branch, China International Capital Corporation, CITIC Europe Holdings Limited. Wang Meng, Director of the Paris China Culture Center,and Liu Dongwei, Secretary of the CPC Xicheng District Committee of Beijing, attended the event.

Over the 61 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, the two countries have made significant contributions to global peace, stability, prosperity, and development. This investment promotion event aims to foster opportunities for dialogue, exchange, and cooperation, to enhance connectivity, mutual benefit, and shared development toward win-win outcomes.

In his speech, Liu Dongwei noted that Xicheng District boasts a rich cultural heritage, where ancient legacy meets modern vitality. It bears witness to over 3,000 years of Beijing's city-building history and more than 870 years as the national capital. It is also the northern terminus of the 3,200-kilometer-long Grand Canal of China, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Given this, it stands as a living chronicle of Chinese civilization. Xicheng District is powering industrial upgrading through innovation and continuously exploring the balance between cultural preservation and creative renewal. It promotes the harmonious coexistence of the old and the new in the adaptive use of cultural heritage, while actively embracing emerging industries, earning its place as a rising star in the broader animation and digital content sector. At the event, the Xicheng District Branch of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Planning and Natural Resources introduced how the district has advanced scientific management and efficient utilization of spatial resources through industrial upgrading and transformation. Thierry Meignen, Senator of the French Senate, shared the development journey of establishing friendly cooperation between the two cities. Chrystelle Renaud from the Paris Insurance Group shared the successful experience of launching a joint venture of BNP Paribas in Xicheng District. CITIC Europe Holdings Limited and Beijing Financial Street Investment (Group) Co., Ltd. have established strategic cooperation.  

It was announced that the "Global Investment Promotion Liaison Office-Paris Station" of Beijing's Xicheng District was officially inaugurated. Since 2024, Xicheng District has established the Xicheng-Europe Investment and Trade Liaison Station, along with France, Switzerland, and Luxembourg branches of its Global Investment Liaison Station, as well as service stations in Norway and Finland. With firm commitment to reform and opening-up, a mature and efficient market environment, and pragmatic industrial policies, Xicheng District welcomes distinguished partners from all around the world. The establishment of the Paris Branch marks a new chapter in business and trade cooperation between the two regions.
