The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in China launched the country's national pavilion on June 18 at the 31st Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF), one of the most influential fairs for professionals from the entire publishing community for communication, conducting business in China, and displaying diverse and rich cultural programs.

In his remarks, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to China Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi said that the country aims to introduce elements of the UAE's cultural heritage to the friendly Chinese people, promote important institutions in the UAE's cultural landscape, and strengthen ties with the Chinese publishing and cultural circles.

He also said that the country would like to explore cooperation opportunities to open up new prospects for effective cooperation with major Chinese cultural and creative industry institutions.

During the BIBF, the pavilion plans to host a slew of events including seminars, professional meetings, and the signing of a number of cooperation agreements.

The ambassador highlighted that as the leading global platform in Asia, the BIBF brings together important forces in the international publishing and cultural fields, consolidating effective cooperation with major cultural and academic institutions around the world. "Our participation in the Beijing International Book Fair is an excellent opportunity to strengthen the deep historical and cultural ties between the UAE and China. Through the national pavilion, we strive to fully showcase the UAE's cultural landscape and present the UAE's thoughts and creative achievements in various cultural fields such as literature, art, heritage, and innovation," he said.

The BIBF attracts more than 2,600 exhibitors from more than 100 countries and regions around the world.
