Asked to comment on the Trump administration's signing of an executive order to keep TikTok running in the US for another 90 days, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Friday that China has repeatedly stated its principled position regarding issues related to TikTok.

China will continue to handle related issues in accordance with Chinese laws and regulations, Guo said.

The US President Donald Trump on Thursday signed an executive order to keep TikTok running in the country for another 90 days, allowing his administration more time to negotiate a deal under the "sell-or-ban" law, according to Xinhua News Agency.

Thus, TikTok can continue functioning for its 170 million users in the US.

This is the third time for Trump to extend the TikTok ban deadline. By Thursday's executive order, the deadline will be further extended to September 17, 2025, according to Xinhua.
