Iran will continue its retaliation in response to US attacks, senior Iranian official tells Reuters. The official also said that Iran has the necessary rationality to begin diplomacy after punishing the aggressor, and if they seek negotiations Israeli and US attacks must stop, Reuters reported early Tuesday morning.
Iran launched multiple missiles toward US bases in Qatar Monday after the US struck Iran’s nuclear sites over the weekend.
According to another report from Reuters, senior US national security aides convened in the White House Situation Room after news that Iran had launched missiles at the US base in Qatar. "The White House and the Department of Defense are aware of, and closely monitoring, potential threats to Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar," a senior White House official said.
Joint Chiefs Chair General Dan Caine and Secretary Pete Hegseth are currently in the Situation Room monitoring potential Iranian retaliation, according to a senior White House official. President Trump is in the room with them as well, CNBC reported.
No Iranian missiles hit the US military's Al Udeid Airbase in Qatar, a US official told Reuters. Two US officials also confirmed that there were no US casualties reported at the base, according to Reuters.
Bahrain and Kuwait reopen airspace after a brief suspension, state news agencies report, according to the Reuters. And the operations also resume in Dubai Airports , Dubai's media office said on X platform.
Earlier, at least 26 commercial flights headed to either Dubai, United Arab Emirates, or Doha, Qatar, were diverted due to airspace closures in the Middle East on Monday, CNN reported.
Multiple countries in the Middle East and North Africa have condemned the Iranian attack on a US base in Qatar, CNN reported. Egypt called the attack “a violation of (Qatar’s) sovereignty, a threat to its territorial integrity, and a breach of international law and the United Nations Charter,” according to a statement from Egyptian government Monday.
Saudi Arabia said the attack was a violation of the “principles of good neighborliness, and an entirely unacceptable act that cannot be justified under any circumstances.”
A spokesperson for Oman’s foreign ministry condemned the regional escalation, which they said was triggered by Israel and includes the recent Iranian attack, CNN reported.
French President Emmanuel Macron also called for a return to diplomacy to end what he called "the spiral of chaos" in a post on X.
