On June 25, the construction of Luckin Coffee’s (Xiamen) Innovation Industrial Park officially commenced. With a total investment of 3 billion yuan ($418 million), the facility will boast an annual roasting capacity of 55,000 tons and the ability to process over 100,000 tons of green coffee beans per year, making it China’s largest single-site coffee roasting plant. Once operational and integrated with Luckin Coffee’s roasting bases in Kunshan (Jiangsu), Pingnan (Fujian), and Qingdao (Shandong), the company’s total annual roasting capacity will surge to 155,000 tons, setting a new record for the largest coffee roasting capacity in China’s coffee industry.

Currently, Luckin Coffee operates more than 25,000 stores globally and the number is on track to surpass 26,000 soon. The automated roasting system at the Xiamen Industrial Park is designed to match this "China speed."

The Innovation Industrial Park places a strong emphasis on sustainability, pursuing not only China Green Building Three-Star Certification but also the internationally recognized LEED BD+C Platinum certification. The park’s green coverage will exceed 20%, featuring rain gardens and vertical greenery to create a "breathing green factory." Low-reflectivity walls eliminate light pollution, while double-layer soundproof barriers keep noise levels below 50 decibels. A CFD-optimized natural ventilation system increases indoor airflow by 15% while reducing energy consumption by 23%.

On the day of the groundbreaking ceremony, Luckin Coffee also hosted its inaugural China-Brazil Coffee Culture Salon. Jorge Viana, President of the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), presented Guo Jinyi with a plaque designating Luckin Coffee as the "China-Brazil Coffee Culture Strategic Partner," recognizing the company’s contributions to Sino-Brazilian economic and cultural exchanges. Luckin Coffee announced plans to establish a second Brazilian Coffee Museum at the Xiamen Innovation Industrial Park and to open Brazilian coffee-themed stores in over 30 key cities across China.

Luckin Coffee has recently deepened its collaboration with Brazil in the coffee sector, from signing a memorandum of understanding for a 10-billion-yuan green coffee procurement deal to co-hosting the Brazil Coffee Culture Festival. With the approaching 2025 BRICS Summit and the 2026 "China-Brazil Cultural Year," Luckin Coffee is strengthening bilateral ties through coffee, serving as a vivid example of China-Brazil friendship at the corporate and grassroots levels and contributing to the next "Golden 50 Years" of Sino-Brazilian relations.
