For a long time, Australia has tended to believe that the big decisions in its region would be shaped by Washington or before that by London, Hugh White, Professor of Strategic Studies at the Australian National University, said in the video program Global Arena recently.

Now, we're gonna live in an Asia where the big decisions, are gonna be made in our own region, and Australia has to learn to work in that kind of environment, Hugh White said.
