Thai Foreign Minister has arrived at the UN Headquarters on Thursday to report "Cambodia opening fire on Thailand," while the Cambodian Prime Minister also urged UN Security Council to intervene over Thai military aggression on Thursday after a clash happened at the border areas between Thailand and Cambodia, according to media reports.

Thai Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampong arrived at the UN Headquarters in New York City on Thursday afternoon to urgently communicate with the international community regarding "Cambodia opening fire on Thailand," Khaosod English reported.

Maris emphasized that Cambodia launched the attack first and attacked Thai civilian areas and hospitals, violating human rights and humanitarian principles, CCTV News reported.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet has formally requested the UN Security Council to urgently address what he described as a "premeditated military aggression" by Thai armed forces along the Cambodian-Thai border, Khmer Times reported.

According to Khmer Times, in a letter addressed to Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN and President of the Security Council for July 2025, Hun Manet detailed a series of alleged armed attacks by Thailand beginning early this morning. The attacks reportedly targeted multiple Cambodian positions, including Tamoan Thom Temple, Ta Krabei Temple, and the Mom Bei area, in the provinces of Preah Vihear and Oddar Meanchey, per Khmer Times.

According to CNN, at least 11 civilians have been killed in Thailand, the Thai Health Ministry said. Cambodia has not yet reported any fatalities on its side.
