Chinese actress Zhao Lusi retweeted her agency's Sunday statement, refuting the company's denial of the allegations of contract breach following the star's viral social media post on Saturday.

On Saturday night, Zhao accused her agency of multiple failings in a Sina Weibo post, which sent related topics to the top of the platform's trendy topic list.

She claimed the agency failed to communicate despite promises and alleged it deducted 2.05 million yuan ($284,704) from her studio account due to a cancelled endorsement during her treatment period. Disputes over studio control and unsuccessful termination negotiations were also cited in the post.

"You don't need to blacklist me, I quit," Zhao wrote. She urged followers facing critical situations to take immediate actions. "Don't trust anyone who comforts you hiding ulterior motives... the most important thing is to call the police! Call the police immediately!"

In response, the agency, YinheKuyu Media (KU), issued a statement on China's X-like platform Sina Weibo on Sunday, expressing the company's "shock" at the content of Zhao's lengthy post on the Weibo platform on Saturday evening.

"Considering our agency's consistent respect for Ms. Zhao Lusi's opinions and our friendly cooperative relationship, and in response to public attention and speculation, we hereby formally state the following," the agency said.

The agency denied any illegal or contractual breach during their "years of mutual support and growth." They emphasized prioritizing Zhao's "wishes and well-being," especially following her illness, and coordinating all activities related to the actress.

Meanwhile, the agency urged Zhao to avoid "posting ambiguous content online that leads to public misunderstanding."

The company stated its commitment to fulfilling its responsibilities under the management contract, saying it will continue working with Zhao to resolve all issues.

Zhao then retweeted the statement on her Weibo on Sunday, refuting the company's claims.

She responded directly to her agency's statement in the comments section of her own Weibo post and issued a series of pointed questions demanding clarification from her agency.

"What exactly are you shocked about... Where were you when I was taking medicine and inhaling oxygen more than a week ago?" Zhao posted.

Related topics have sparked heated online discussion on Chinese social media.

Zhao has previously spoken about her mental health issue. In a January 1 Weibo post, she revealed struggling with depression since 2019, later experiencing physical symptoms like frequent retching, dizziness, and severe weight loss, dropping to approximately 37kg.
