A series of videos showing a Chinese toddler making quick basketball shoots went viral on social media, with audience engagement reaching the level of established NBA stars such as Stephon Marbury and James Harden.
In the short videos, Wang Muzhi, who is just 2 years old, showcased his impressive shooting skills with precise left-hand wrist-release skills.
"I've seen the purest shooter China will produce in the next 15 years. His shooting form and his understanding of the mechanics of power generation are absolutely key," Marbury said of Wang on social media.
"Whether he can become the next CBA or NBA star depends entirely on coaching and foundational development. To see such talent emerging directly from China with my own eyes is truly exhilarating!"
According to the videos, his family resides in Shenyang, Northeast China's Liaoning Province. The city is considered a basketball hub as it is home to four-time CBA champions Liaoning Flying Leopards.
"His wrist control is incredibly precise, and his wrist-release is remarkably smooth. It hardly seems like a typical kid," reads a popular comment on RedNote.
Harden, with the Miami Heat's official account and NBA shooting coach Chris Matthews also posted comments on the videos of Wang.
A viral video of Wang making shots posted in May has received over 423,000 likes on Instagram.
"Wow, perfect form on that shot. Could he be the next great shooter? Could be," three-time NBA All-Star player Glen Rice commented on the post.
