On August 27, upon learning that Hanta Textile Finishing Co., Ltd. was expanding its factory, State Grid Suzhou Power Supply Company immediately arranged for staff to visit the company to understand its electricity needs and introduced electricity solutions such as distributed photovoltaic construction, green electricity trading, and green certificate subscription.
The persistent high temperatures in summer have spurred new business opportunities in the industrial chain. Upon entering Shengze Town, Wujiang, Suzhou, the largest chemical fiber fabric production base in China, one finds that among the 2,500 textile enterprises gathered here, over 800 have already devoted themselves to the research, development, and manufacturing of sunscreen fabrics.
Hanta Textile Finishing Co., Ltd. is one of them. Last year, the company's highest monthly output of sunscreen fabric was about 100,000 meters. In the first quarter of this year, the monthly output ranged from 200,000 to 300,000 meters, and in the second quarter, it has reached 400,000 to 500,000 meters, showing a significant increase in production compared to last year.
To ensure ample electric energy for enterprises, the State Grid Suzhou Power Supply Company has provided capacity expansion services to 20 textile enterprises in Shengze since the beginning of this year, with a cumulative increase of 56,425 kVA. Reliable power supply serves as a robust "engine" for the steady development of the textile industry in Shengze.
With the assurance of reliable electricity, Shengze continuously innovates and optimizes the quality of fabrics. After the production of ordered fabrics, the merchants do not ship them immediately, but first send them to the laboratory for testing. The test results show that the UPF value is greater than 50 and the UVA transmittance is less than 2.5%, which far exceeds the national standard baseline (UPF > 40, UVA < 5%). The excellent sunscreen performance has won the favor of consumers.
Shengze's innovation in fabrics doesn't stop there. A radiant cooling fabric is emerging as a new force. This fabric can reduce the perceived temperature by 5-10℃ through thermal radiation, transforming sunscreen clothing into a "mobile air conditioner." The market response has been enthusiastic, with sales increasing by 15%-16% this year, making it a hot new star.
The "technological prowess" embedded in the fabric, coupled with reliable power supply, has allowed Shengze, a small town in the south of the Yangtze River covering only 150 square kilometers, to stand out in the "sunscreen market." This year, Shengze enterprises have actively involved in the supply chain of nearly half of the sunscreen fabrics nationwide.
