
The China-SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) Vocational and Technical Education Cooperation Center was inaugurated Tuesday at Tianjin University of Technology and Education, in North China's Tianjin.
At the launch, the SCO Member States Think Tank for Vocational Education Development, the SCO Member States Training Base for Vocational Education Teachers, and the SCO Member States Alliance for the R&D and Promotion of Vocational Education Equipment were also established.
Born out of the SCO Summit 2025 held in Tianjin from August 31 to September 1, the center will focus on six key tasks, including promoting international cooperation in vocational education, advancing industry-education integration, conducting skills training, enhancing teacher capacity, and developing international standards and certification.
The think tank brings together 58 experts from nine countries, including China, Russia, Kazakhstan and Pakistan. The training base, led by Tianjin University of Technology and Education, will boost skills training for teachers and technical professionals. And the equipment alliance, comprising research institutes, enterprises and universities, has already developed more than 40 sets of teaching equipment now in use in Kazakhstan, India and Pakistan.
