The Eleventh ASEAN Plus Three (10+3) Media Cooperation Forum was held in Kunming, the capital of Southwest China's Yunnan Province, on the afternoon of September 17. Under the theme "Increase Inter-connectivity for Common Development and Shared Benefits," 13 representatives from mainstream media outlets across different countries delivered speeches or keynote speeches centered on this topic. Multiple media guests also engaged in on-site dialogues and exchanges on topics including "Foster New Growth Drivers and Share New Development Opportunities." Myint Kyaw, deputy permanent secretary of Ministry of Information of Myanmar, delivered a keynote speech at the forum. The following is the full text of the speech:

Respected guests, distinguished media representatives,

Good day! It is a great honor to participate in today's 2025 Belt and Road Media Cooperation Forum and the Eleventh ASEAN Plus Three (10+3) Media Cooperation Forum. First, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the organizers, especially the People's Daily, for providing us with this invaluable platform to exchange and cooperate.

The theme of this forum, "Increase Inter-connectivity for Common Development and Shared Benefits," perfectly reflects the shared vision of fostering connections and promoting collaboration among the countries in our region, particularly in economic, social, and cultural development.

The world is currently undergoing rapid changes, especially in the fields of economics, technology, and culture. The ASEAN Plus Three region, which includes China, Japan, and South Korea, serves not only as a key driver of global economic growth but also as a hub for technological innovation and cultural exchange. However, it also faces significant challenges such as trade disparities, population aging, and climate change.

In addressing these challenges, the role of media is crucial. Media is not only a vital channel for information dissemination but also a bridge that fosters public understanding and cooperation. With the rapid advancement of digital technology, media plays an increasingly important role in social, cultural, and economic development, particularly in strengthening connectivity within the ASEAN Plus Three region.

Myanmar's media has always been committed to delivering truthful and accurate information while promoting social interaction and cultural integration to advance regional cooperation. Through the power of media, we can further deepen collaboration with ASEAN Plus Three countries, especially in digital technology, artificial intelligence, and media modernization.

As Chinese President Xi Jinping once said, "A single flower does not make spring, while one hundred flowers in full bloom bring spring to the garden." This quote eloquently emphasizes the importance of diversity. Diversity is the essence of human society and the foundation of regional cooperation.

On behalf of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, I would like to reaffirm our commitment to strengthening media cooperation within the ASEAN Plus Three framework. This collaboration will not only enhance mutual understanding and trust but also contribute to the peace and prosperity of the ASEAN Plus Three region.

Finally, I sincerely wish this forum great success and wish all participants good health and success in their endeavors!

Thank you!
