Distinguished guests, dear friends,
It is a great pleasure to attend the Eleventh ASEAN Plus Three (10+3) Media Cooperation Forum and join you in exploring the theme of "Increase Inter-connectivity for Common Development and Shared Benefits" while sharing insights on the media cooperation initiatives undertaken by China Media Group (CMG) in recent years.
Since the establishment of the ASEAN Plus Three (10+3) cooperation mechanism, it has upheld Asian values of peace, cooperation, openness, and inclusiveness, steadily advancing economic integration, fostering new drivers of development, and achieving remarkable results across various fields. This has helped make East Asia one of the most dynamic regions in the world. In this process, as a bridge for cultural exchanges and mutual understanding among civilizations, CMG has worked alongside media counterparts in East Asian countries to consistently report on the fruitful outcomes of regional cooperation, actively promote cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and enhance mutual understanding and friendship. These efforts have contributed to building a solid foundation of public support for East Asian cooperation.
Telling stories of cooperative development and amplifying the voice of mutual benefit. President Xi Jinping profoundly stated, "When Asia fares well, the whole world benefits." CMG has focused on collaborating with regional media to showcase, through diverse formats, the significant achievements made through cooperation among China, Japan, South Korea, and ASEAN under the strategic guidance of head-of-state diplomacy.
CMG's large-scale multimedia event, Let's discover China, has invited journalists from ASEAN, Japan, and South Korea to visit various parts of China, experiencing firsthand the vibrant vitality of Chinese modernization. Using visuals as a medium, CGTN launched "Our World," while collaborating with mainstream media in ASEAN, Japan, and South Korea to produce several programs which vividly highlight the outcomes of regional economic cooperation and the development opportunities China offers to the world in the new era.
Building bridges for mutual learning among civilizations and fostering consensus for cooperative development. Addressing common challenges and moving toward a brighter future requires cultural exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations.
During President Xi's state visits to Vietnam, Malaysia, and Cambodia in April this year, "The Classic Quotes by Xi Jinping" produced by CMG was broadcast on mainstream media in these countries, receiving enthusiastic responses. CMG's high-quality programs, such as "Xi Jinping's Cultural Story" and "China: Race to the Future," were also showcased locally, opening a window for Southeast Asian audiences to understand Chinese civilization and Chinese modernization.
Engaging the world through culture, CMG has meticulously dubbed and broadcast outstanding Chinese dramas such as The Story of Minglan, Heroes in harm's way, My Mr. Mermaid, on mainstream television channels in Myanmar, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Bangladesh, and other countries, sparking a wave of viewership and becoming cultural phenomena. At key moments, CMG has partnered with mainstream media, think tanks, and cultural institutions in the region to launch innovative initiatives, including cultural exchange activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of China-Vietnam diplomatic relations, the China-Japan youth calligraphy pilgrimage, new dialogues for the Z generation between China and South Korea, China-Myanmar media joint charity events, seminar on the 50 years of China-Philippines friendship, and the "Wings of Peace" global interactive campaign. These heartfelt, down-to-earth and warm activities have further strengthened the foundation of bilateral goodwill.
Creating platforms for dialogue and exchange and writing a new chapter of extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits. Diversity fosters exchange, exchange breeds integration, and integration drives progress. Since 2024, CMG has signed 23 cooperation agreements with government departments, media organizations, and social institutions in Brunei, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, and other countries, covering content exchange, joint production, cultural exchange, and personnel visits. CMG continues to deepen its "5G+4K/8K+AI" strategic framework, leveraging the integration of "thought, art, and technology" to elevate the "ASEAN partnership" cooperation mechanism. Events hosted by CMG, such as the forum for global media innovation, the "Journey through Civilization · An Encounter with Liangzhu" world tour, and the global video media forum, have created platforms for intellectual exchange and collective deliberation, injecting new momentum into media consensus and cooperation.
The current wave of technological revolution and industrial transformation, led by artificial intelligence, is profoundly reshaping the global media landscape, public opinion ecosystem, and cultural dynamics. CMG is committed to leveraging the technological and communicative strengths of a world-class, innovative mainstream media organization. With cultural dialogue as our mission and technological innovation as our foundation, we stand ready to work hand in hand with media counterparts in ASEAN, Japan, South Korea, and other Asian countries. Together, we will uphold "Asian Consciousness," promote Oriental Wisdom, and jointly write a new chapter of prospering respectively and together.
Dear guests, dear friends,
A journey with many companions gets far. CMG is willing to join hands with media colleagues from various countries to address new challenges, promote a more just, peaceful, and rational international public opinion landscape, and collectively amplify the voice of justice that opposes hegemony, upholds fairness, and pursues righteousness. Together, we will contribute greater media strength to promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in Asia and advancing the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
Thank you all!
