Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Friday presided over a State Council executive meeting to study the implementation of domestic product standards in government procurement and relevant policies. 

The executive meeting highlighted that introducing domestic product standards and related policies in government procurement is a key measure to improve the procurement system and a practical step to ensure national treatment for foreign-invested enterprises in this sector. 

The meeting stressed standards should be set based on actual conditions, with clear classifications and specific requirements for key components and critical processes of certain products. 

Authorities should fully consult relevant stakeholders, implement the standards prudently, establish reasonable transition periods, and support enterprises in planning their industrial layout and investment in advance. All business entities should be treated equally to ensure fair competition, according to the meeting.
