By Brasil 247 - Brazil's 2025/26 soybean harvest is projected to reach an all-time high of 177.64 million metric tons, according to new estimates released Tuesday by the country's National Supply Company (Conab), Reuters reported. The figure represents an increase of about 6 million tons from the previous season, though it remains nearly unchanged from last month's forecast.
Conab said the planted area is expected to expand by 3.6 percent to 49 million hectares. The agency also anticipates strong performance in international markets, with exports potentially exceeding 112 million tons. That outlook is partly driven by weaker US shipments, as the trade dispute with China continues to disrupt American exports.
The state of Paraná leads soybean planting, with 31 percent of fields already sown, followed by Mato Grosso at 18.9 percent. Conab noted that most farmers are waiting for more consistent rainfall, expected in the second half of October, after the end of the country's mandatory soybean planting break.
Outlook for cornConab also issued projections for Brazil's corn crop. Total output is forecast at 138.6 million tons, nearly identical to last month's estimate. The planted area is expected to grow 3.9 percent, reaching 22.68 million hectares.
