The 138th Canton Fair kicked off in Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong Province, on Wednesday and will run through November 4 in three phases. The Global Times observed at the exhibition halls that global buyers are initiating business negotiations with Chinese exporters. Many companies secured export orders on the first day of the fair. As one of China's key trade fairs, the Canton Fair has long served as a barometer and weathervane for China's foreign trade.
