By Brasil 247 - On November 2, the Brazilian Beef project, a partnership between the Brazilian Association of Meat Exporting Industries (ABIEC) and ApexBrasil, will hold the third edition of The Beef and Road: Bridging the Brazil-China Beef Routes in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. The initiative marks another strategic step to consolidate Brazil's presence in the world's largest beef import market.
The event, organized in cooperation with Henan Dingshenghe International Trade Co., is expected to bring together around 100 Chinese business people and 40 Brazilian representatives. The agenda will include business meetings, cultural performances, and the Brazilian Beef Dinner, featuring premium cuts and Brazilian wines.
ABIEC President Roberto Perosa highlighted the growing interest of Chinese consumers in Brazilian beef: "Chinese people are increasingly discovering the taste of Brazilian beef. We are promoting direct contact between buyers and sellers — and what's more, people no longer need to travel from city to city. ABIEC's work, in partnership with ApexBrasil, makes this process easier, gathering everyone in one place where business happens. That's why I'm very pleased we are helping those who work and produce in Brazil sell their beef in China," Perosa said.
With more than 12 million inhabitants, Zhengzhou is a major logistics and consumption hub connecting eastern and central China. The initiative seeks to expand Brazil's footprint beyond major centers such as Beijing and Shanghai, reaching emerging markets in the country's interior.
Brazil remains the largest global supplier of beef to China, accounting for nearly half of all Chinese imports. Between January and September 2025, Brazil exported 1.15 million tons of beef, generating $6.06 billion — increases of 38.7% in volume and 75.8% in value compared to the same period in 2024.
Following Zhengzhou, ABIEC will participate in the China International Import Expo (CIIE) 2025 in Shanghai, one of the world's largest import fairs, expecting to generate more than $280 million in new business deals.
