In response to media inquiries on China-US soybean trade and China's rare-earth export controls, Ministry of Commerce spokesperson He Yongqian said on Thursday that earlier in the day, the ministry had released a statement on its website outlining the major outcomes and consensus of the China-US economic and trade consultations in Kuala Lumpur.
The statement covered issues including US Section 301 measures on China's maritime, logistics and shipbuilding sectors, the extension of reciprocal tariff suspension, fentanyl-related tariffs and enforcement cooperation, agricultural trade, and export controls, He said.
He said the China-US economic and trade consultations in Kuala Lumpur yielded positive results, fully demonstrating that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, both sides can find solutions through dialogue and cooperation based on equality, mutual respect and reciprocity.
He added that the outcomes were hard-won, and China looks forward to working with the US to ensure their implementation, injecting greater stability and certainty into bilateral trade relations and the global economy.
