China urged Japan to promptly remove relevant Chinese entities from its export-control "end-user list," said China's Commerce Minister Wang Wentao when meeting with Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Akazawa Ryosei in Gyeongju, South Korea on Thursday. The two sides exchanged views on China-Japan economic and trade relations, according to the official website of China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM).

Wang stated that, in the current context where unilateralism and protectionism are impacting the international economic and trade order, both sides should work toward each other, make good use of mechanisms such as the export control dialogue, and jointly maintain stable and smooth industrial and supply chains.

The Chinese commerce minister expressed the hope that both sides would work together to uphold the multilateral trade system centered on the World Trade Organization, promote regional economic cooperation and inject greater stability into the global economy.

Akazawa said that Japan values the development of economic and trade relations with China, is willing to build a constructive and stable relationship, actively carry out policy dialogues, enhance mutual understanding and trust, expand pragmatic cooperation and jointly uphold a rules-based international economic order, according to the MOFCOM.
