In response to recent inquiries regarding the progress of consultations on the Nexperia issue, a spokesperson from the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) said on Tuesday that Chinese side has already responded to reporters' questions about Nexperia issue. The spokesperson reiterated that the Dutch government's administrative order issued on September 30 constituted an improper interference in the company's internal affairs. This was followed by a wrongful court ruling that stripped Chinese enterprises of their lawful equity, seriously undermining their legitimate rights and interests.

The spokesperson said that despite China's repeated reasonable requests during consultations, the Dutch side failed to show constructive attitude or action and instead escalated the global supply chain crisis. Nexperia Netherlands' decision on October 26 to halt wafer supplies to its Dongguan facility disrupted normal production, causing turbulence in the global semiconductor supply chain. The Dutch side should bear full responsibility for the consequences.

China, acting responsibly for the stability and security of the global semiconductor supply chain, announced on November 1 that it would grant export exemptions for qualified cases and work to help Nexperia's China unit resume supply. However, the Dutch side has continued to act unilaterally without taking any concrete steps to resolve the issue, which will only worsen the negative impact on the global semiconductor supply chain — something neither China nor the global industry wishes to see, the ministry said.

China urges the Dutch side to work with Chinese side responsibly, bearing in mind the broader China-Netherlands and China-EU economic and trade relations, as well as stability and security of global industrial and supply chains. The Dutch side should stop interfering in corporate internal affairs and find a constructive solution to the Nexperia issue, according to the MOFCOM spokesperson. Meanwhile, China will firmly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of its enterprises and continue efforts to ensure the stability and smooth functioning of the global semiconductor supply chain, the ministry spokesperson said.
