At the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs regular press conference on the 17th, a reporter asked: Masaaki Kanai, director-general of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau at the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is scheduled to visit China on Monday and is expected to hold consultations with the Chinese side regarding remarks made by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi. What is China's comment on this? In addition, the Chinese government has urged Chinese tourists to avoid traveling to Japan on the ground of worsening public security in Japanese society in recent years. Could you elaborate on relevant cases?

In response, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Monday that regarding the consultations you mentioned, China will release information in a timely manner if there is any. In response to the erroneous Taiwan-related remarks by Takaichi, Mao said that China has made and will continue to lodge solemn representations and strong protests with the Japanese side, seriously demanding that Japan immediately reflect and correct its mistakes, retract the erroneous remarks, and stop creating incidents on issues involving China.

Mao stated that for some time, criminal cases targeting Chinese citizens have been frequent in Japanese society, and there have been some extreme and threatening remarks against China from Japanese right-wing forces and online. China is highly concerned about this, and the issuance of reminders by relevant departments is entirely reasonable, the spokesperson added.
