在12月4日外交部例行记者会上，有媒体提问称，12月3号日本首相高市早苗在参议院全体会议上援引《中日联合声明》表示理解和尊重中国政府关于台湾是中国领土不可分割的一部分的立场，请问中方对此有何评论？

At a regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on December 4, a reporter asked: On December 3, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi cited the Sino-Japanese Joint Statement at a plenary session of the House of Councillors, saying that she “understands and respects” the Chinese government’s position that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China’s territory. What is China’s comment on this?

对此，中国外交部发言人林剑表示，据核实，有关报道不准确，高市首相本人只提及日方在台湾问题上的基本立场如1972年《中日联合声明》所述，这一立场没有变化，仅此而已。

In response, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated that, upon verification, the relevant reports are inaccurate. Takaichi only said that Japan's fundamental position on Taiwan question is as stated in the 1972 Sino-Japanese Joint Statement and this position has not changed — nothing more.

他表示，中方的态度是明确的，我们敦促日方切实反思纠错，撤回高市首相错误言论。面对历史档案记得清清楚楚、白纸黑字写得明明白白的原则问题，面对中方连日来的多次质问和日本国内国际社会的批评，高市首相仍然只是用立场没有变化来敷衍搪塞，中方对此绝不接受。

Lin noted that China’s attitude is clear. China urges the Japanese side to genuinely reflect and correct its mistakes, and to retract Takaichi’s erroneous remarks. When it comes to a matter of principle for which the historical records are crystal clear and the words in black and white is unequivocal, and in the face of China’s repeated questions in recent days as well as criticism from within Japan and from the international community, Takaichi still attempts to brush things off by merely saying that Japan’s position “has not changed.” China absolutely won’t accept this.

林剑称，既然高市首相称日方在台湾问题上的基本立场如1972年《中日联合声明》所述，那么她能准确完整重申1972年《中日联合声明》所述的内容吗？为什么日方就是刻意不肯讲清楚既有的承诺和法律义务，这背后到底是什么逻辑和居心？日方也需要给中方和国际社会一个交代。

Lin said that since Takaichi claims that Japan’s fundamental position on the Taiwan question is as stated in the 1972 Sino-Japanese Joint Statement, can she accurately and fully reiterate what the 1972 Sino-Japanese Joint Statement actually states? Why is the Japanese side deliberately refusing to spell out its existing commitments and legal obligations? What is the logic and intention behind this? Japan also needs to give an explanation to China and to the international community.
