在8日举行的外交部例行记者会上，有媒体就日方声称中国海军舰载机对日本自卫队战斗机“雷达照射”一事提问。

At the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s regular press conference on Monday, some media outlets raised the question concerning the Japanese side’s claim of Chinese Navy carrier-based aircraft conducting “radar illumination” on Japanese SDF fighter jets.

对此，中国外交部发言人郭嘉昆表示，中方已就这一问题阐明了严正立场。他表示，事实真相十分清楚。中方在有关海空域开展演训活动，符合国际法和国际惯例，相关操作专业规范，无可非议。舰载机在飞行训练时开启搜索雷达，是各国通常做法，也是确保飞行安全的正常操作。

In response, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated that China has stated its serious position on the issue. The facts are very clear, he said. Chinese side’s conduct of exercises and training activities in the relevant sea and airspace fully conforms to international law and international practice, with all operations being professional and standard, and beyond reproach. It is a common practice of all countries for carrier-borne aircraft to turn on their search radars during flight training, which is also a normal operation to ensure flight safety.

郭嘉昆称，此次事件的关键是日本战斗机擅自闯入中方演训区域，对中方军事活动抵近侦察干扰，还恶人先告状，炒作所谓“雷达照射”问题，颠倒黑白，嫁祸于人，误导国际社会。中方对此强烈不满，坚决反对，已向日方提出严正交涉和强烈抗议。

Guo stated that the key to the incident lies in that Japanese fighter jets unauthorizedly intruded into the Chinese side’s exercise and training area, conducted close-in reconnaissance and interference with Chinese military activities, and then played the victim by hyping up the so-called “radar illumination” issue, confusing right and wrong, shifting the blame onto others, and misleading international public opinion. China is strongly dissatisfied with and firmly opposed to this, and has lodged serious representations and strong protest with the Japanese side. 

他表示，明眼人都看得很清楚，日方此时蓄意散布和炒作军事安全领域的虚假信息，渲染紧张局势，完全是别有用心。我们强烈敦促日方立即停止滋扰中方正常演训活动的危险行为，停止一切不负责任的虚假炒作。

Guo stated that it is clear to all with sensible minds it is completely ill-intentioned for Japanese side to deliberately disseminate and hype the misinformation in the field of military security, building up tensions at this time. We strongly urge the Japanese side to immediately stop its dangerous moves of harassing China’s normal military exercise and training, and stop all irresponsible disinformation, the spokesperson said.
