The US has long imposed illegal unilateral sanctions on Venezuela's oil industry, and recently even resorted to force against Venezuela, severely disrupting its economic and social order and threatening the stability of global production and supply chains. China has strongly condemned this. I would like to emphasize that cooperation between China and Venezuela is conducted between sovereign states and is protected by international law and the laws of both countries, Mao Ning, spokesperson of Chinese Foreign Ministry, said on Wednesday, in response to questions from Venezuelan media regarding how China plans to ensure its energy security and maintain energy supply and project operations given that China and Venezuela have been oil production and supply partners, and whether China believes that US actions directly threaten the stability of international energy cooperation and global energy security.
