Two people were shot on Thursday afternoon by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents in Portland, the U.S. state of Oregon, according to city councilors.

The two people are now in the hospital. And their condition was not immediately known.

Portland City Council President Elana Pirtle-Guiney said that, to her knowledge, both victims were still alive.
