外交部发言人毛宁主持1月12日例行记者会。会上有外媒记者提问称：伊朗抗议活动造成人员死亡。美国总统特朗普表示，如果伊朗对示威者使用致命武力，他可能会对伊朗进行打击，外交部对此有何评论？

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning hosted the regular press conference on January 12. At the conference, a foreign media reporter noted that the protests in Iran have resulted in deaths and US President Donald Trump stated that if Iran uses lethal force, he might strike Iran. The reporter asked about Foreign Ministry's comment on this.

毛宁对此表示，中方希望伊朗政府和人民能够克服当前的困难，保持国家的稳定。我们一贯反对干涉别国内政，一贯主张各国的主权和安全都应当受到国际法的充分保护，反对在国际关系中使用武力或威胁使用武力。我们呼吁各方多做有利于中东和平稳定的事情。

Mao Ning responded by saying that China hopes that the Iranian government and people can overcome the current difficulties and maintain national stability. We have always opposed interference in other countries' internal affairs and we have always maintained that the sovereignty and security of all countries should receive full protection under international law, she said. 

“We oppose the use of force or the threat of use of force in international relations. We call on all parties to do more things that are conducive to peace and stability in the Middle East,” the spokesperson said.
