China’s foreign trade value reaches new high in 2025, hitting 45.47 trillion yuan

China’s foreign trade in goods reached 45.47 trillion yuan (US$6.51 trillion) in 2025, up 3.8% year-on-year, according to customs data released on Wednesday. Of that total, exports grew 6.1% in 2025, while imports rose 0.5%. The value of foreign trade hit a record high, exceeding the 45-trillion-yuan threshold for the first time, and China remains the world’s largest trader in goods.
