As recent reports in some Swedish media claim that untested machines and equipment produced in China led to the bankruptcy of Northvolt, a Swedish battery developer and manufacturer, a spokesperson from Chinese Embassy in Sweden said on Wednesday night that attributing Northvolt’s bankruptcy to the Chinese equipment supplier is seriously inconsistent with the facts, completely untenable, and a typical case of scapegoating and shifting blame.

As a global leading provider of new-energy equipment services, Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment strictly adheres to international standards for all equipment exported to the EU, and all such equipment has passed CE certification by third-party professional institutions, fully complying with the EU’s safety and technical access standards. There is absolutely no such thing as so-called “untested” equipment or “technical defects,” said the spokesperson.

The spokesperson noted that the company's equipment products are sold to multiple countries and regions around the world, and have long served leading new-energy enterprises in countries such as Germany, France, Hungary, and others. They operate stably across production lines in various regions and enjoy wide recognition in the international market.

Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment is a publicly listed private enterprise with a transparent shareholding structure, and its business operations are conducted entirely on market-oriented principles. Any attempt to politicize normal commercial cooperation is irresponsible subjective speculation, according to the spokesperson.

“We hope that relevant parties will view Chinese new-energy enterprises and their products objectively and fairly, recognizing the positive contributions they have made to promoting global green development, and work together with the Chinese side to jointly advance greater progress in sustainable development across all countries,” the spokesperson noted.
