China firmly opposes and expresses strong dissatisfaction with the US side's blatant spreading of rumors and smearing of Chancay Port, Lin Jian, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said on Thursday at a regular press conference, in response to a question regarding claims by US State Department's Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs that Peru could be powerless to oversee Chancay port, which is under control by Chinese enterprises.
