Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim extended Chinese New Year greetings in both Malay and Chinese on X on February 16, accompanied by a video featuring Andy Lau's classic festive song "Gong Xi Fa Cai” as the background music.

He said in the post that Confucius taught us that harmony stems from mutual respect and understanding among the people, which is precisely the cornerstone that allows Malaysians of different cultural and religious backgrounds to coexist peacefully in a multiracial society.

Anwar said, on the occasion of the Year of the Horse, he wishes all Malaysians happiness, health, and prosperity. The post concluded with "Happy New Year, Gong Xi Fa Cai (wish you prosperity), and may the Year of the Horse bring you great fortune!"
