Huaibin, Henan: Power Supply in Advance Empowers High-Quality Development of Industrial Park

On February 24, walking into the Textile Industrial Park of Huaibin County Development Zone in Xinyang City, Henan Province, one can hear the hum of machines in the workshops. Rows of water-jet looms run at high speed, with silk threads shuttling back and forth. Workers in overalls perform their respective duties—sorting, inspecting, and packing products—creating a busy yet orderly production scene.
In recent years, seizing the strategic opportunity of industrial transfer from northern Jiangsu, Huaibin County has vigorously promoted the clustered development of industries in the development zone. The number of enterprises entering the park has grown steadily, and production scales have expanded continuously. To date, the development zone has introduced and cultivated 321 textile and garment enterprises, with the contracted and put-into-operation scale of water-jet looms reaching 70,000 sets. The once-quiet industrial park has transformed into a thriving hub with roaring machines and brisk production and sales.
Behind this vigorous development lies a continuous surge in power demand: the 110 kV park substation—the main power supply for the park—has seen a maximum load growth rate of 22.4% over the past three years, making power supply pressure increasingly prominent.
Textile enterprises belong to continuous, high-precision, and high-load production industries. Their production equipment has extremely high requirements for power supply reliability and voltage stability. Even a brief voltage fluctuation or momentary equipment stoppage can cause yarn breakage and fabric defects, affecting both production progress and product quality.
To break the park's power supply bottleneck and achieve "power supply in advance for the park" rather than "enterprises waiting for power supply," State Grid Huaibin County Power Supply Company has innovatively adopted a 110 kV prefabricated mobile substation. This solution not only increases the park's power supply capacity by 30%, but also enables intelligent load switching and second-level fault response, forming a reliable power supply network featuring "mutual backup between two substations and mutual load sharing."
As the production lines of the 321 textile enterprises in the park operate at full capacity, this stable and reliable power supply is being transformed into a quality guarantee for every meter of fabric, injecting strong momentum into Huaibin's efforts to build a 10-billion-yuan textile industrial cluster.
