The most urgent field for cooperation between China and Europe right now is football, Jiang Xiaojuan, professor at University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said at the Boao Forum for Asia 2026 on Tuesday, adding that "since China’s reform and opening-up, most indicators in China have seen significant growth. However, the level of Chinese men's football has regressed to where it was before 1984."
