Scientists from South Ural State University have developed an innovative artificial intelligence system capable of analyzing human creativity levels within minutes. The breakthrough is based on two patented databases that, for the first time in Russia, include comprehensive assessments of both children and adults using the internationally recognized Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking.
The research, conducted under a grant from the Russian Science Foundation, involved a sample of 3,007 participants who had previously completed creativity assessments. These unique datasets provide a foundation for establishing normative indicators of adult creativity – an area that has historically lacked sufficient empirical data. The information has also enabled the training of a neural network capable of evaluating test responses with a level of efficiency comparable to that of expert psychologists.
In collaboration with specialists from the Institute of Psychology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the researchers developed an AI model that processes results from several projective creativity assessments. Through a dedicated online platform, users can now complete creativity tests and receive automated results within minutes, eliminating the need for in-person consultations.
Experts believe that the newly developed AI system and proprietary testing methodology are expected to support large-scale creativity diagnostics in educational institutions and organizational settings, facilitating talent identification, recruitment processes, and the development of innovation-driven human capital.
