Tehran is ready to resume negotiations with Washington in order to achieve peace but doubts US sincerity, Iran's ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali said on Thursday.
"We want concrete goals and objectives to be achieved as a result of these negotiations. They (the United States) should not dictate the terms and outcomes of these talks so that we can achieve a sustainable, long-term peace throughout the region," the ambassador said, according to local media reports.
Jalali said that Iran stands ready to resume the suspended negotiations. However, he cautioned that any US approach predicated upon dictating terms, engaging in deceptive practices, or deliberately prolonging the process would be unacceptable.
He also said that Iran remains committed to the diplomatic path to resolving this conflict, but Tehran does not see the same attitude toward negotiations in Washington.
"Iran does not see a serious approach (to negotiations) on the part of the United States," Jalali said.
Iran has emerged as the victor from the unequal war imposed on it by the United States and Israel, he said.
"They used their entire military potential against Iran, but the result was a historic victory for Iran," Jalali said.
