Due to the situation in the Middle East, the global energy market is facing supply shortages, which has affected many countries. To fundamentally resolve this issue, the key is to make every effort to prevent the resumption of conflict and promote a full and lasting ceasefire, so as to prevent further regional instability from having a greater impact on the global economy, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Wednesday in response to a media inquiry regarding whether China plans to increase fuel exports to trading partners, given that China's approved fuel export quotas for May have increased but remain far below last year's average, and that some countries in Asia and elsewhere have raised this issue with China. 

Lin noted that China stands ready to maintain communication with all sides to jointly safeguard global energy security and the stability of industrial and supply chains.
