At the 2026 World Athletics Relays held in Gaborone, Botswana on May 3, the Chinese men's 4x100m relay team clocked a season's best 37.85 seconds in the second-round qualifying heat to top the group, successfully securing qualification for the 2027 World Athletics Championships in Beijing. The Chinese women's 4x100m relay team finished fifth in the final and had also earned their qualification for the Beijing World Championships.
