Strong earthquake hits southern Philippines: volcanology agency

A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck 13 km south of General Santos City in the southern Philippines at 7:37 a.m. on Monday at a depth of 10 km, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
