Ford to build 3rd plant in Chongqing

Ford Motor Co has approved the construction of its third assembly plant in China.

According to Xinhua's report, Ford will build the plant in Chongqing municipality, which is next to its existing assembly plant in the city.

The new plant is designed to produce more than 300,000 units per year and will mainly manufacture existing Ford SUVs and crossover series. Meanwhile, an auto engine production plant will be constructed near the third plant.
