BYD to reduce price Friday

BYD plans to reduce prices on Friday to all of its car models except L3 and M6 series.

F6, a B-class will see the most discount and be sold at 80,000 yuan ($12,143).

An unnamed employee of the carmaker said the reduction aims at raising publicity and increasing sales in the first quarter.

However, another analyst said that price reduction is a double-edged sword for the brand value of a company. Although the brand awareness and sales volume increased, the reduction also damages loyalty of customers.
