Automaker Volvo to recall 908 vehicles in S Korea

Global automaker Volvo will recall 908 vehicles sold in South Korea due to malfunction in windshield wipers, the government said Thursday.

Three Volvo models, S80 D5, S80 4.4 and S80 3.2, produced between Aug. 31, 2006 and May 18, 2007 in Germany, are subject to the recall, according to the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs.

The recall was decided as defects in the electrical systems of the vehicles may hamper the operation of windshield wipers, the ministry said, adding that owners of subject vehicles can receive free repairs from Friday.
