Beijing Hyundai launched a redesigned Elantra called the "Hyundai Elantra Yue Dong" for the Chinese market with an upgraded exterior. Carrying a price tag between 108,800-119,800 yuan ($ 16,247-18,088), Beijing Hyundai sold 23.330 units of the model.

The engine lineup includes 1.6- Gamma and 2.0-L Beta II gasoline inline-four engines, and a 1.6-L turbo diesel inline-four. All engines feature improved fuel economy over previous versions. A five-speed manual transmission is standard and a four-speed automatic is optional.
