Plug-in electric hybrid Chevrolet Volt

General Motors announced plans Tuesday to invest $246 million to design and manufacture electric motors, saying the first were scheduled to be manufactured in the United States and debut in 2013 in a next generation, rear-wheel drive hybrid vehicle.
