CPC delegation visits Iran

Song Tao, head of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), led a delegation to visit Iran from July 28 to 30, at the invitation of Iran's Expediency Discernment Council.

During his three-day visit, Song held a series of meetings with Iranian senior officials, including Iran's Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, Chairman of Expediency Discernment Council Sadeq Larijani and Secretary of Expediency Discernment Council Mohsen Rezaee.

He also talked with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Vice President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari and Secretary-General of Iran's Islamic Coalition Party Asadollah Badamchian.

Song stressed that China has always viewed its relations with Iran from a strategic and long-term perspective and China is willing to enhance political mutual trust and strategic communications between the two countries and promote practical cooperation and the development of the bilateral relations.

China will firmly support Iran nuclear deal, uphold multilateralism and push to build a community with a shared future for humankind, he added.

Iranian officials said that they highlighted the relations with China and are willing to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in all areas.

Iran also praised China's positive role in global and regional affairs.
