Four people have been killed and six others injured, two of them seriously, in a chemical plant explosion in South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Tuesday, local authorities said.
The explosion happened at around 11:15 am in Luchuan county in the city of Yulin, the city's emergency management bureau said.
According to video on social media, thick smoke was seen rising from the factory and a factory building has been heavily damaged.
The rescue work has ended and the investigation shows that the explosion occurred at a reactor in the resin synthesis workshop, where phenolic resin is made from formaldehyde and phenol. There were about five tons of raw materials in the workshop, according to the Xinhua News Agency.
