A grade-two student recently received a reply from China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokespersons Hua Chunying and Geng Shuang, after the girl wrote to the ministry before China's National Day on October 1.
Student Cheng Guo, proudly read the letter to local media in Qindao, East China's Shandong Province: "Your dream of becoming a diplomat sounds great! To be a diplomat, you have to love your country and the people, and have all-round capabilities. We believe that you can be a success in the field of a study and we hope to see you in our team one day."
Chen wrote to Chinese Foreign Ministry last month on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, saying that she really admires the wisdom and confidence of government spokespeople, which has given her a passion to become a diplomat.
Wang Jiao, head teacher of Cheng's class, told the local media that Cheng "is outstanding in our class. I am really happy for her to receive such a meaningful letter, which is an unforgettable experience for her."
"I envy that school girl, and I want those signatures, which are much more meaningful than autographs from entertainers," wrote a netizen on Twitter-like Sina Weibo.
"The letter will have a profound impact on the kid's life, as she strives for her dreams," said another Weibo user.
