One of China's ubiquitous couriers got an odd request and tough mission that had him climb a mountain for a customer who was too busy to deliver a good-luck offering to a temple in person.

While couriers wearing distinctive uniforms, helmets and carry-all shoulder boxes are seen in just about every neighborhood in every cities in the country, tourists were surprised to see one hiking up the stairs of Taishan Mountain in Shandong Province, People's Daily reported on Sunday.

A video, apparently taken by a hiker, shows the courier, surnamed Guo, slogging up the steep stairs with his heavy blue box over his shoulder. It had been viewed 47 millions times on Chinese social media platform Sina Weibo, as of press time.

Gao's customer, surnamed Wang, asked that the delivery of fruits and other offerings be dropped off at a temple at the top of the 1,500-meter tall mountain.

Gao showed Wang's order memo with a message to the temple saying "Bless my e-commercial business during the Double 11 shopping festival! I'm too busy preparing products and don't have time to worship myself, but I am sincere."

China's "Double 11" which represents November 11 is the world's biggest shopping festival.

Gao said at first he refused the order but decided to help Wang and to keep fit by climbing the mountain.

Gao didn't say how much Wang gave for the unusual delivery.
